Job Summary
Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens, as requested. Assists pathologists and histotechs as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested.

Job Responsibilities
Completes prioritization, receipt, registration and distribution of specimens. Has responsibility for sendout/reference lab shipping, tracking and billing. Will perform waived testing, as requested. Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested.

Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate's degree in laboratory or medical related field from an accredited institution.

Experience
Required: 3 years of laboratory experience.
Preferred: In addition to above, basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred.

Certifications
Required: Phlebotomy Certification where State law requires.
Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar.
