Description:
FKC-Lake Shore Mechanical Technicians are required to work with customers’ operations and maintenance personnel, as well as internal technical staff, to perform installation, repair, and scheduled maintenance of customers’ equipment. Mostly pertaining to, but not limited to, Hoisting Systems (including Brakes, Hydraulic Units, Cages, Skips, Sheaves, Headframes, Brakeman Cars, etc.). Mechanical Technicians must be proficient in troubleshooting mechanical equipment, identifying appropriate solutions, and performing repairs. This position requires Technicians to be on-call as scheduled and is 100% field based.
Troubleshoot and repair customers’ hoisting equipment
Installation of upgrades for improved functions on hoisting systems and related equipment
Assist with installation and commissioning of new systems and ancillary equipment
Work closely with FKC-Lake Shore Electrical Technicians
Communicate materials or labor assistance needed to supervisory personnel
Effective communication with customers’ personnel and internal technical and professional staff
Participate to improve efficiency, quality, and safety
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
3 or more years of experience in the installation, maintenance and/ or repair of mechanical equipment to include industrial equipment
Familiar with equipment operating systems including electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic
Willingness to travel 100%
Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings
Ability to work in confined spaces, such as an underground mine or in a mine shaft and from elevated surfaces (heights); such as platforms, baskets, and headframes
Military Veterans with construction battalion, combat engineering, or mechanic experience are strongly encouraged to apply
