Legal Project Manager

In this role, you will spearhead the management of legal projects across various practice areas, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with client teams to manage engagements from inception to completion, optimizing resources and methods for maximum efficiency.
  • Function as a subject matter expert on multiple facets of legal project management such as project planning, budgeting, compliance, and use of technology platforms like Clocktimizer, viGlobal, Kira, and Intapp.
  • Provide on-demand consultancy to client teams, focusing on enhancing service quality and delivery through strategic innovations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with client guidelines particularly concerning staffing, reporting, and billing as coordinated with the Finance team.
  • Drive the adoption and sophisticated use of legal project management tools, fostering an environment receptive to technological advancements.
  • Engage in the development of firm-wide project management practices by collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Invest in the mentorship and training of firm staff on project management and process enhancement strategies.
  • Promote a culture of ongoing improvement, welcoming feedback and demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional development.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project management within a legal or professional services environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of implementing effective solutions focused on client satisfaction, financial health, and compliance.
  • Solid experience with project management and process improvement methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex interactions and fostering collaboration.
  • Advanced analytical abilities with a knack for pinpointing critical success metrics.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees or certifications such as a Paralegal Certificate, MBA, or JD are highly advantageous.
  • Direct experience managing large-scale portfolios and high-profile client interactions within legal operations or similar settings.
  • Detailed understanding and experience with leading project management and collaboration technologies.
  • Familiarity with change management methodologies, ideally Prosci certified.
  • Hold formal project management or process improvement certifications like PRINCE2 or PMP.
  • A strong grasp of current trends in project management beyond the legal industry, contributing to the ongoing dialogue about the evolution of legal services.

Skills:
