What You Do

Will provide leadership to the Quality Inspection team through clearly established two-way communication regarding goals and actions by use of Floor Management Systems, ensuring alignment of Quality activities to support business plan priorities, leading improvement strategies, technology advances and providing leadership to team leaders and team members by fostering their development.

As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:

  • Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching, and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Work closely with advisors from Mazda and Toyota
  • Create production improvement strategies relative to KPI achievement and support team leaders through team members in translating those strategies into concrete action plans by use of Floor Management Systems
  • Lead and coach Quality Inspection team to achieve hourly/daily objectives
  • Ensure alignment of activities to support the business plan
  • Share information and communicate goals
  • Support model change planning, area setup, and training activities
  • Create team leader development plans and coach the team members
  • Support introduction of new inspection and auditing technologies when applicable
  • Develop standardize work instruction for each audit process
  • Support shop safety initiatives and manage timely implementation of countermeasures to resolve problems
  • Ensure daily process quality and partner with manufacturing groups to solve manufacturing related problems
  • Promote problem solving activities within the team
  • Cultivate a workforce that is representative of Diversity and Inclusion initiative
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the department
  • Be available to work outside of normal work schedule, including but not limited to weekends, holidays, shutdowns, and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 12 months’ leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Strong problem-solving skills: demonstrated success and ability to solve problems in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success in a cross-functional leadership role
  • Working experience with inspection or quality confirmation processes.
  • Using Floor Management Systems to visualize KPIs and performance
  • Experience developing strategies and plans to support Business Plans and KPIs, including model launch readiness, quality improvement initiatives, and efficiency enhancements for processing
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products

What Will Set You Apart:

  • 2 years’ leadership experience in automotive manufacturing (Quality Control)
  • Shop Floor Jishuken leadership experience
  • Prior experience with 5S and standardized work systems
  • Experience creating written department procedures and flows to support standard application and sustainment, including the implementation and/or publishing of said materials
