Summary:
The Director of Advancement fulfills the mission of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic School primarily through work in the following four areas:
• Marketing
• Communications
• Enrollment
• Development
As our school prepares for and launches its opening year, this individual will actively promote the school in the community, coordinate school communications, contribute to fundraising efforts, and guide families through the enrollment process. (S)he will often be the first face prospective families meet and must be a joyful and faith-filled ambassador for the school. This person will be immediately responsible to the principal for the carrying out of all job responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities:
CATHOLIC MISSION
• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic classical education and the mission of the school
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Supports and adheres to the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees and policies and procedures of the school and the Archdiocese
• Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability to the school, students, and staff
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
• Develops marketing and communications strategy for the school
• Manages and develops the school website to ensure that it is current and effective
• Maintains the integrity of school branding
• Coordinates production and distribution of brochures, posters, mailings, and all other marketing materials for the school
• Manages all school communications, including the newsletter, social media presence, and parent email/text notifications
• Organizes events that promote the school, including information nights, tours, etc.
ENROLLMENT
• Ensures that marketing and communications strategies result in meeting enrollment goals
• Develops the school's new student enrollment packet
• Supports families in completing the enrollment process
• Maintains accurate database of prospective families
• Ensures student information is accurate and up to date in the enrollment system
DEVELOPMENT
• Designs and executes the annual fund, planned giving program, fundraising events, and major gifts
• Meets yearly fundraising goals to fulfill budgetary needs for school
• Researches, writes, and submits grant applications
• Networks and cultivates relationships with existing and potential donors
• Leads volunteers
• Acknowledges and tracks donor gifts
Requirements
Job Requirements: Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred
  • Experience and skills
    • Minimum five years of relevant communications and marketing experience
    • Minimum two years of development and fundraising experience
    • Minimum intermediate computer software skills - database, Excel, Word, Outlook, web design - with ability to learn new platforms
    • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and public speaking communication skills required
    • Creatively develops ideas to foster engagement through communications, events, and enrollment strategies
    • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
    • Non-profit experience and/or experience in Catholic education preferred
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Maintains a welcoming and hospitable demeanor
    • Graphic design skills preferred
