Aduro Advisors is looking for bright and talented individuals to join our team working to support top-tier clients in the venture capital and private equity space. This role will directly support our Partner and Chief Operating Officer in strategic initiatives supporting our client engagement strategy. Candidates will need to be located in the Bay area to assist with attending events.

Here is the type of work you will do:

Develop, plan and execute a thoughtful client engagement strategy comprised of a variety of touch points. This role will own and drive this strategy and should have a 12 – 18 month roadmap. Client engagement at Aduro includes:

Aduro Social Media Presence : Plan and develop strategy and content for Aduro social media presence including LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and other platforms.

  • Create or engage with design partners to create collateral in support of Aduro social media posts.
  • Measure the engagement performance of social media activity and adjust strategy as appropriate based on performance.

Aduro External Communications: collaborate with Aduro’s communications consultant to ensure that external communication strategy (podcasts, press releases, media opportunities) is cohesive with Aduro’s client engagement strategy.

Aduro Client Communications: Plan and develop strategy and content for Aduro client communications including Aduro Client Need to Know newsletters. Own the Aduro client communication calendar in collaboration with other Aduro leadership team members to ensure that Aduro client-facing communications are cohesive, strategic and timely.

Aduro Client Webinars: Plan and develop strategy and content for Aduro client webinar series including collaborating with Aduro Executive Team, Client Service Leadership, and external Aduro trusted partners to ensure webinar content is timely and useful for Aduro clients. Facilitate webinars including email announcement, curate attendee list, coordinate with external speakers, and execute webinar.

Aduro Client Events: Plan and execute in-person event strategy for Aduro client community with the goal of increasing connectivity between Aduro, Aduro clients, and the greater venture capital and private equity ecosystems. This includes smaller format events such as dinners as well as larger format events such as Happy Hours or half-day client-focused conferences.

Aduro Event Sponsorships: Work closely with our clients and trusted partners within the industry to sponsor or co-host events on an ongoing basis that support Aduro’s goals of Aduro platform development and client engagement. This role should plan to develop relationships and engage with our core partners on an ongoing basis.

Aduro Client Gifts: Develop a gifting strategy that is in-line with Aduro’s brand and Aduro client expectations.

Budget: Manage Aduro client engagement budget including client events, client event sponsorships, and client gifts.

Other Areas of Focus:

  • Liaison to the Board of Directors: Support the Executive Team by acting as the liaison to the Board of Directors including scheduling of all meetings and check-ins, project management of the contributions to the board-level materials as well as monitoring the status of all follow-up items.
  • Aduro Client Advisory Committee: Develop and execute plan to create Aduro Client Advisory to ensure that a panel of core Aduro clients and underlying investors provides guidance to the Aduro Leadership team on key service matters.
  • Ensure high-level execution of administrative responsibilities such as email correspondence and calendaring of multiple executive and senior leadership calendars in support of client engagement initiatives.

  • Developing an understanding of Aduro’s brand & voice: the development of an understanding of Aduro’s brand and role in the overall fund administration and alternative asset ecosystems is core to this role. This person would collaborate with the Founder & CEO, Partner & COO, and Head of Client Success to ensure that communications are in-line with Aduro’s voice and service offering and in support of our clients and team reaching best service outcomes.
  • Crafting a premium, high-touch client experience: Aduro prides itself on high quality touch points with its clients and the greater Aduro community including the day-to-day client service experience as well as our series of complementary client communications and events. This person should enjoy creating experiences that feel high-value and in-line with Aduro’s vision for elevating what a fund administrator can be.
  • Mentorship and collaboration: this role would work closely with our Client Operations Manager to execute on the tasks outlined above. Ideal candidates should work well with others in a remote environment and feel comfortable supporting the development and mentorship of a Manager-level team member.

The salary range for the Chief of Staff position is $140,000 - $175,000. Salary is determined based on current market data and candidate experience level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or similar field
  • Industry experience strongly preferred: either in-house to a Firm or experience serving the greater venture capital or private equity community
  • High standards and a keen attention to the details
  • Proven success in a project coordination role as well as experience in organizing and directing a thoughtful engagement strategy
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communications
  • Experience in data analysis and budget management
  • Strong event planning and execution experience at all scales.
