We’re looking for a VP of Finance who will assess and interpret the "big picture" of Daisy's financial health - providing detailed reports and presenting key data analytics about our financial performance, to help our executive team make informed decisions. Reporting to the CEO, this critical thinker and problem solver will support the company’s rapidly scaling operations with both short term diligence and longer term forecasting, driving responsible growth. Duties & Responsibilities:
Support Daisy’s rapid, yet responsible scaling of operations; develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with our overall business goals and specific growth objectives.
Collaborate with executive leadership teams to develop strategic financial plans, including acquisitions, mergers, and potentially capital-raising initiatives.
Oversee the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to create and monitor budgets that optimize resource allocation and support strategic initiatives.
Guide the finance team to ensure accurate and timely (monthly, quarterly and yearly) financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and compliance with accounting best practices.
Oversee Controller to drive cash flow management, optimize working capital, liquidity, and capital allocation to support ongoing operations and future growth.
Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, statements, and presentations for internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and board of directors
Develop compelling reporting packages for our existing venture capital investors and Board members
Assist in helping raise additional investments, whether venture capital equity investing or debt financing
Lead financial due diligence and quality of earnings assessments of acquisition candidates, prepare projected financials and analyze returns, and assist in purchase price assessment and negotiations
Conduct detailed financial modeling and scenario analysis to assess potential investments
Evaluate and drive cost-saving initiatives, identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and profitability enhancement.
Oversee supply chain and vendor programs including strategic partnerships with equipment manufacturers (e.g., speaker companies, control systems, and others), unlocking access to greater savings, faster updates and more robust training for branches nationwide
Manage the finance and accounting team, as well as product and supply chain team, overseeing growth opportunities and bridging skill gaps
When necessary, perform additional duties such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, tax preparation, and tracking revenue, expenses, and other aspects of the company's finances
Background & Skills:
15+ years of experience in finance leadership roles
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
MBA preferred but not required
Relevant Professional Certifications Preferred, including Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), and/or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
Experience with franchise operations will be an advantage
Proficiency in commonly used financial software/tools, including NetSuite and Quickbooks
Knowledge of industry-specific tax requirements and compliance/regulations
Experience with M&A activities, including due diligence, valuation, and integrating financial systems and processes
Proven expertise in long-term strategic planning including forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis
Risk management, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks (credit, interest, currency fluctuations, etc.)
Strong collaboration and negotiation skills
Proven analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Adaptability to shifting priorities, last-minute changes and requests – experience in a fast paced, start-up environment preferable to be set up for success
Strong time-management and multi-tasking skills
Ability to look at the "big picture" without overlooking the smaller nuances
Ability to lead a team and keep team members motivated, informed, and aligned
Strong communications skills – particularly around presenting highly technical ideas and information in a way that is easily accessible
Able to travel up to 25%
