About This Position

  • Customer Experience (CX) division is working to build customer loyalty by improving customer satisfaction and creating promoters. We will transform the customer experience across all channels and improve associate & dealer experience through the improvement of systems, processes, and capabilities.
  • The Digital Sales Product Owner will create and manage action plans and milestones independently, for our Digital Selling products including Honda, Acura and CPO digital sales as well as our remote location digital selling environment. This role translates the wishes of stakeholders into understandable language for the Development Team to interpret and take action. This leadership role also sets direction and prioritizes work, removing impediments when necessary.
  • This role will lead an Agile Product Team. Responsibilities include: Represent and advocate for the Business in strategic planning, product development and solution management that are in alignment with stakeholder AHM Business Units (Honda Auto, Acura, CPO and AHFC) corporate strategies.
  • Fully owns critical decisions such as business goals, scope, and desired outcomes.
  • Delivers high, consistent value (release management); successful completion of releases.
  • This position requires extensive collaboration with AHM associates, IT, consultants, contingent workforce, and vendors.

Responsibilities Include

  • Create, manage and cultivate product team plans.
  • Lead Digital Selling Product Teams and manage product development schedules. Maintain release velocity.
  • Support Release Train and scrum team of larger scale products Product Increment (PI) planning, managing the product definition and implementation.
  • Prioritize and manage backlog and implementation, ensure product execution meets strategy and requirements and refine features into user stories and story acceptance criteria.
  • Support CX Leadership/Value Stream Owner and business units to deliver product strategy and roadmaps, aggregate and conceive ideas for enhancing product performance and achieving product success/KPIs that support enterprise OKRs.
  • Maintain quality standards and process documentation, lead Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives as a key member of the CX Department and the scrum team.
  • Lead Product Development and Operation as Product Owner.
  • Identifies, assesses, and manages risk to the success of the Product. Ensures that realistic development plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders.
  • Ensures quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure.
  • Manages the Product procedures and ensures that Product deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.
  • Provides effective leadership to the Product team, and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.
  • Reviews analysis and performance monitoring for specified products. Supports problem resolution, resolves issues and acts on feedback and usage of in-life products.
  • Contributes to product collateral and monitors results and feedback from product launches. Responsible for one or more products, depending upon the product’s complexity.
  • Lead Engagement with Business Units, CX Division, Marketing & Digital Services Leadership.
  • Coordinate plans with assigned business units to ensure needs are documented and addressed. Work with CX leadership to acquire resources, coordinate efforts and address requirements.
  • Advance agile processes and coaching.
  • Contribute to the enterprise’s Agile transformation by adopting and spreading knowledge of agile principles and processes.
  • Provide peer coaching to junior product owners and others developing in Product roles.

Required Work Experience

  • 8-10 years of professional experience in the field of project/product management, software development or relevant customer experience technologies or services.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a product owner or managed complex projects in an agile environment.
  • Budget management.
  • Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills that can be applied across a diverse set of audiences.
  • Requires and applies a broad knowledge of business, product performance and industry principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of or experience in working cross-functionally ideally with a variety of different domains, including IT, Finance, and Business Development.
  • Work experience in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with JIRA or similar tool.

Required Education

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience supported by subject matter training. Proven leader of people. Advanced degree and/or additional experience would be helpful.

Desired Skills

  • Agile Certified preferred, especially SAFe Agile.
  • Experience leading team members and coaching on Agile methodology and implementation.
  • Automotive OEM experience.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Curious, questioning skills to gain understanding and build support.
  • Adaptable with proven track record of growing responsibilities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, organizational and project coordination skills.

  • Skilled at questioning, using evidence to persuade.
  • Ability to elicit and refine complex business requirements, make decisions on business requirements/interdependencies.
  • Ability to present complex positions and strategies for business decisions, processes and plans.
  • Ability to work effectively with AHM staff, IT staff, 3rd party vendor staff.
  • Ability to interact with other Honda company's personnel, builds strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understands business imperatives.

  • Competitive base salary $115,800 - $173,700.
