Software Test Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles

Join Sustainable Talent as a Software QA Engineer supporting Nvidia and their Engineering team. This is a W-2 full-time contract based in Santa Clara, CA. You will play a key member of the data collection and operation teams to serve as a liaison for the engineering team. You will work with our data engineering team to design engineering improvements to increase and scale operational efficiencies. You will lead complex operations to ensure timely completion of data collection requests. The ideal candidate is technical and has hands-on experience with various hardware and software concepts. This candidate should have interest in autonomous vehicles and be comfortable working in ambiguous environments with minimal mentorship.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Prepare and configure software systems for data collection and manage various types of data for testing and analysis.
  • Follow technical documentation related to ML/AI data collection and testing, ensuring standardized data operation practices.
  • Modify and execute Bash and Python scripts to meet the team’s software needs; initially, you will modify predefined scripts, but over time, you’ll work on writing scripts from scratch.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues, working within an automation framework.
  • Collaborate with development teams to execute software test plans and ensure the successful integration of software for AV technology systems.
  • Provide constructive feedback to engineers on methods and procedures for software operations and scaling.
  • Work in a hands-on, garage setting, supporting software testing and integration for AV systems.
  • Multitask across several projects, working independently with minimal supervision in an agile, fast-paced environment.

What We Need to See:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1-4 years of experience in Software QA, with hands-on experience in Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with automation frameworks is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience using task management tools like Jira.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and adapt in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines is a bonus.
  • Passion for software testing and hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.
