Overview:
As an Electrical Systems Engineer III, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems and making improvements to electrical systems. Your role involves all aspects of the design process, such as modeling and drafting, creating layouts, and building electrical circuits.
Essential Functions
- Engage in all stages of the product development cycle, from design concepts to releasing products to mass production.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define requirements and specifications for the electrical/electronic products.
- Responsible for every aspect of product development including - product requirement and specification definition, circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout, firmware, prototyping, design validation, Design for Manufacturing (DFM)/ Design for Test (DFT), failure mode analysis, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage development through phase-gate process. Contribute to technical project planning including project timelines, trade-off proposals, Bill of Materials (BOM) cost, investment cost, and risk mitigation. Accountable for meeting cost targets, schedules, functional requirements, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical Engineers, Industrial Designers, Sustainability Engineers, Regulatory Engineers, and Sourcing, to ensure project success.
- Accountable for EE design documentation and updates, such as system diagrams, test plans, reports, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Interface with New Product Innovation (NPI) engineers, industrial engineers, product engineers, and quality engineers to support the transition from development to production.
- Contribute to researching and evaluating new technologies for possible product inclusion.
- Lead the electrical product roadmap definition and proposals.
- Provide technical mentorship to other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of education.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing electrical/electronic products.
- At least 3 years of experience leading cross-functional projects as a technical lead.
- Self-driven team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Experience with failure mode analysis, and design to meet EMC/EMI/Safety regulations.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and project management skills
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, UL962, and EN62368 standards is a plus.
- Ability to travel to work with suppliers worldwide.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Experience in eCAD and simulation software, such as Altium Designer, SolidWorks PCB, and LTSpice.
- Proficiency in schematic design, PCB layout, firmware development, board bring-up, failure mode analysis, and design to meet Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) safety regulations.

Salary Range: $106,569 - $170,000
