We are looking for an orthodontic assistant with a bright, positive, and professional demeanor to join our team as we transform smiles every day in our multi-location practice (Annapolis, Bowie, Gambrills, Greenbelt)
An orthodontic assistant ready to make a difference with a "patient first" focus would be the perfect fit. This hands-on clinical position consists of direct patient care with skills in taking digital records, providing patient education, and being responsible for computer treatment documentation as well as other necessary daily tasks and responsibilities. Orthodontic experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance to the Orthodontist while performing procedures including ensuring necessary tools.
  • Meet with patients, inquire about their braces experience, and any issues.
  • Cleaning, sterilizing and set up of instruments and appliances.
  • Prepare tooth impressions and assist in attachment of brackets, bands and wires.
  • Assist with office duties including maintenance of patient records, ordering supplies, answering phones and scheduling appointments.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient's records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with orthodontic software programs- particularly Cloud9.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
  • Taking impressions and digital scans. iTero or similar scanner proficiency preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of Dental or Orthodontic Assisting experience preferred
  • Required certifications by state to work as an orthodontic assistant
  • Required certifications to take radiographs (typically DANB RHS)
  • Current CPR certification
