About Enterprise Strategy

Enterprise Strategy is the internal consulting division of American Express. We work directly with the CEO, the executive team, and senior leaders to provide thought leadership and an external perspective on the most important strategic priorities of the company.

Enterprise Strategy grows high-potential colleagues into future leaders at American Express. Our team members develop deep subject matter expertise and leadership skills in stretch roles that unlock their full potential, working collaboratively with senior leaders across the company. Subsequently, our team members transition to take on key leadership roles within the business.

How will you make an impact in this role?

As a Director in Enterprise Strategy, you will tackle the most important strategic opportunities and challenges for American Express, working on a broad range of topics across the business units. Projects are primarily oriented around growth strategy in order to drive long-term success and innovation.

You will lead project workstreams, including scoping and structuring problems, conducting complex analyses and research, and creating presentations. You’ll lead a team of 3-5 colleagues to develop solutions and present recommendations to senior leaders.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the enterprise, including C-suite executives, to drive strategic initiatives that enhance the leadership position of American Express. You will establish yourself as a trusted thought partner to your business partners.

In addition to leading project teams, you will also oversee 3-4 direct reports. In your role as a people leader, you will enable the long-term development of your direct reports by providing ongoing coaching and support and leading the performance management process.

As a member of the Enterprise Strategy team, you’ll join a close-knit and supportive group of colleagues who put an emphasis on diversity of perspective, mentorship, fun, and a balanced lifestyle.
