Hospice of Southern Maine is seeking a Resource Nurse Manager at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. The position is 40 hours, three shifts per week (includes every other weekend). Base hours are 8:00am - 9:30pm (39 hours), the 40th hour can be worked either before the start of the shifts of at the end, whichever the incumbent prefers.

The Resource Nurse Manager works as part of the clinical management team and is responsible for assisting and coordinating the day-to-day clinical activities at GMHH and assisting with facilitating communication and providing leadership to the GMHH staff. The Resource Nurse Manager is the primary supervisor on site during certain parts of the day. Performs admissions and manages IPU caseload as needed. Manages medication ordering and supply and assists with maintaining appropriate documentation standards. Assists the Clinical Operations Inpatient Director in managing staff & fostering/maintaining a positive work environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Graduate of an NLN accredited nursing program.
  2. Associate’s degree in nursing required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience required.
  4. Hospice nursing experience required.
  5. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory, inpatient facility (or SNF), oncology experience preferred.
  6. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  7. BLS certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment required. Certification must be kept active during the course of employment.
