About the Department
Alumni Relations and Development (ARD) engages alumni (~220k), current students, parents, and friends of the University through intellectual, professional, and social activities on campus, around the world, and online. ARD raises $600 Million annually to support faculty, researchers, practitioners, patients, students, and programs across the University.
Within the Office of Alumni Relations and Development, the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving (AEAG) team oversees a diverse set of programs and initiatives designed to increase participation and engagement among alumni, parents, and friends of the University, focusing on driving key University priorities.
Job Summary
This position manages a team of professionals responsible for programs and fundraisers designed to engage the alumni community worldwide, increase participation, and advance the objectives of the Alumni Associations, the broader University, and divisional alumni initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for the core operational functions of the University-wide alumni and volunteer experience.
- Develop and implement the University’s new system for measuring, reporting, and analyzing engagement.
- Oversee technologies used to strengthen alumni engagement and meet University engagement goals.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive, University-wide alumni benefits program.
- Lead the creation and implementation of University-wide alumni engagement policies.
- Standardize Alumni and Volunteer Experience processes.
- Provide strategic oversight of constituent communications.
- Lead team-wide, priority special projects as assigned.
- Foster partnerships with colleagues University-wide and with key volunteers and donors.
- Hire, manage, evaluate, and retain top talent.
- Collaborate on establishing team goals and priorities.
- Seek opportunities for professional development.
- Manage communications and support for University's alumni organizations.
- Perform other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in a related field.
Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Certifications: None specified.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Advanced degree.
Experience:
- Minimum seven years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales, or similar work.
- Minimum four years of management experience, including staff management.
- Minimum two years of experience developing and monitoring budgets.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge of the internal workings of the University and technology tools available.
- Skilled with Salesforce CRM.
