BRASS and THE TUSK BAR, new food and beverage concepts in the Evelyn Hotel in Flatiron/ Nomad, are seeking a Maî tre d'. The Maî tre d' is a management position that will report directly to General Manager and Director of Operations. A flexible, can do anything attitude is required.
With Michelin starred culinary partners and a strong front of house team in place, we are looking for an exceptional leader at the mid point of their career with the highest of ambitions.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in restaurant and dining room management, and will be required to work the floor during service.
As leader of the Guest Relations department, the Maî tre d’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Management of dining room operations during service
- Assisting in the opening and closing of the dining rooms
- Greeting & seating the guests upon arrival
- Working closely with the host staff, restaurant & bar managers, and supporting the service staff when needed.
- Development of front of house service staff, with a strong focus on the reservations and host team
- Directing, coaching and managing guest relations team and front door function (Resy, phones etc)
- Overseeing reservations, pre-fixe menus
Overseeing and coordinating special guests (VIPs, etc)
Coordinating and managing communication between guests and staff
Developing initiatives to build sales, profitability and guest counts
Providing all employees counseling as needed in accordance with Company Policies
Must have at least 3 years experience working as a Maître d' and/or restaurant manager at high profile and high volume NYC restaurant.
