Job Requirements / Description

The Senior Transit Technology Consultant will lead and manage complex SaaS-based professional services projects and help improve internal processes and apply best practices. This role will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet client and team needs. This role will report to the Head of Professional Services.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  1. Lead, plan, and execute projects, ensuring all aspects are delivered on time and within budget.
  2. Escalate issues to the Head of Professional Services as early, frequently, and as clearly as possible.
  3. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring tasks are assigned and deadlines are met.
  4. Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  5. Manage and track invoicing in collaboration with the finance team.
  6. Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to all stakeholders.
  7. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between project teams and stakeholders.

Technology Assessment and Strategy

  1. Coordinate project activities with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration.
  2. Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and internal team members from the revenue and customer success teams.
  3. Lead business development efforts to capture market opportunities.

Data Analytics and Reporting

  1. Track and report on project KPIs, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  2. Monitor project budgets and resources, making adjustments as necessary to optimize efficiency.
  3. Lead technical writing efforts as needed.

Customer Experience

  1. Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Test products and communicate improvement to ensure products and deliverables are accessible, reliable, and user-friendly.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Project Manager, successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  3. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  4. Experience with or strong interest in public transit, transit planning, transit operations, and/or transit data.
  5. Familiarity with GTFS or GTFS-realtime formatted data.
  6. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate cross-functional teams.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach.
  8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  9. Proficiency in project management software and tools (ex: Jira, Confluence, Trello).
  10. Ability to travel occasionally, as required by project needs.
  11. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.

Nice to Haves

  1. Experience building teams and developing business opportunities.
  2. PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with databases and writing SQL and/or Python scripts to help influence scope of work development.
  4. Proficiency in: Google workspace environment, Jira, Salesforce, Slack, QGIS, Python or VSCode or similar IDE.
