All About You
JOB SUMMARY:
Under general direction, assist with administration of financial aid systems; support general activities related to the packaging and overall delivery of student aid including monitoring reports created from aid packaging and data loads; performs problem resolution; assists with coordination of mailings, reconciliations, and reporting.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Responsible for assisting in the review of functional/technical aspects of the student aid system; assists in updating the collection, tracking, and reporting methods used to analyze data. Responsible for assembling and distributing required reports. Assist with student, parent and partner telephone counseling and inquiries.
  • Responsible for assisting with auditing the US Department of Education records in preparation for eligibility of aid determination; audits and completes variance reports; ensures data integrity; and reviews and updates aid awards; assists with preparing/reviewing EDE reports and aid packaging summaries for students. Performs problem resolution; prepares, review and distributes reports; and continually monitors student eligibility. Interpret, implement, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of Federal and State guidelines governing financial aid programs.
  • Assist with scheduling of operations calendar and testing of system updates.
  • Oversees data entry operations; assists with procedures and manages appropriate records in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards ensures data integrity.
  • Provides resolution to problems of high complexity, including but not limited to student service activities related to account inquiries, billing adjustments, financial arrangements, and federal financial records. Corresponds with internal and external constituents including students, parents, campus partners, department of education and other agencies.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of federal, state and university academic and scholarship/financial aid policies and procedures;
  • Knowledge of database preparations and maintenance with the ability to operate persona computer with various software;
  • Verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal/human relations skills; ability to establish and maintain effective team-oriented, working relationships and train others;
  • Ability to assess situation/needs and to assist accordingly;
  • Ability to prepare and generate reports;
  • Ability to organize and maintain accurate records and files and maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to adapt to work environment changes, and relate to diverse populations.

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree; three (3) years of related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Functional/technical Banner experience preferred.
Remote/In-person Expectations
This position will be hybrid schedule eligible upon completion of the first 3 months of initial onsite training and familiarizing with department work and operations in compliance with the requirements of the SLU Remote Staff Flexible Work Policy.
