Ascendo is working with an international consulting firm that has a Staff Accountant opening here in their Chicago office. This is a hybrid role, with candidates expected to be in office twice per week.
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting various accounting functions for their global operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with Quickbooks accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accurate financial data
- Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile accounts
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Participate in internal audits and help ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist with variance analysis and budget monitoring
- Collaborate with the team on special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a multinational environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical , organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
