Summary:
The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of a warehouse, including receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking, and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, and organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse. They may use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move inventory, and may also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. A warehouse assistant will also be responsible for conducting inventory counts, documenting inventory movements, and preparing reports for management. They must have strong attention to detail, be able to work in a team environment, and have good communication and organizational skills.
This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while maintaining a productive professional demeanor. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.

Receiving and Inspection:

The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary; you may not work full 8-hour days and there may be off days. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements. Qualifications and Experience:
- Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
- A valid driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory
- One to two years of experience working in a warehouse or similar environment can be helpful in understanding the duties and responsibilities of a warehouse assistant
- Familiarity with basic computer skills, such as using inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications, can be useful in performing some of the duties of a warehouse assistant
- Forklift certification: Some warehouse assistant positions may require a forklift certification, which can be obtained through training courses and testing
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language used in the workplace
- Proficiency in Spanish Language is desirable
- Attention to detail: A warehouse assistant must be detail-oriented and able to accurately track inventory and shipments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills: A warehouse assistant must be able to work well with others and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
- Functional use of MS Office applications including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; teleconferencing applications

Receiving and Inspection:
- Verifies and inspects the contents of incoming shipments against purchase orders, unpacking, and arranging items for storage, and recording and reporting any discrepancies
- Coordinates with carriers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and accurate shipments, preparing shipping documents, and loading and unloading trucks
- Uses inventory management systems to locate and retrieve specific items from storage and packaging them for shipment to customers
- Locates, picks, and prepares products for shipment or delivery by reading orders, finding the products, verifying accuracy, and packaging them appropriately
- Manages the process of preparing and shipping products to customers, including receiving and processing orders, picking, packing, and coordinating with carriers
- Manages the cancellation and return process of orders from customers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Counts, reconciles, replenishes and record keeps of physical inventory levels from back-up locations
- Manages incoming and outgoing inventory, ensures accurate record-keeping, and maintains warehouse organization
- Keeps track of inventory levels and locations, ensuring that all items are properly labeled and stored in their designated locations, and keeping storage areas clean and organized
- Uses forklifts, hand dolly, electric dolly, pallet jack, and/or elevator to move and transport materials and inventory within the warehouse
- Transports goods and materials safely using a company vehicle
- Maintains vehicle/equipment pre-op/post-op to be prepared to perform required duties
- Maintains a clean driving record as defined by the current fleet insurance underwriter
- Observes hazards and reports any concerns or accidents to a supervisor or safety professional; participates in the investigation process as needed
- Understands, completes, and signs off all pre-job safety planning tools at the start and end of the shift; completes all required safety-related paperwork
- Understands and responds appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (e.g., back-up alarms, smell of smoke, fumes, odors, different colored warning tags, warning sirens)
- Upholds a secure work environment by adhering to regulations, procedures, and company policies, ensuring safety standards are consistently maintained
- Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
