The System Administrator performs the more complex duties of maintaining and overseeing the Bank’s servers and network to ensure proper maintenance and security in addition to implementing new technologies and fielding technical escalations for our internal staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network and Server Support: 75%
- Support the Bank's user community by maintaining and installing applications at the network/server level
- Working with Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) including branch rollout, staging, and prep work.
- Supporting and maintaining a wide range of technologies
- Maintain file and directory structure and security
- Perform proactive maintenance as required to keep the network running
- Monitor and test backups, replication, and procedures
- Provide level 3 escalation for employee user issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve server problems
- Maintain Microsoft updates, and patches on servers, and other infrastructure security
- Perform regular maintenance on servers and server-based software
- Provide escalation/emergency support in the on-call rotation schedule
- Provide SAN support and necessary maintenance
- Perform periodic recovery testing of disaster recovery plans
- Manage data access and permissions
- Under direction, carry out network changes, server changes, maintenance plans, and break-fix solutions.
Network and Server Project Implementations: 25%
- Work together with the System Admin team on projects as needed
- Perform detailed project tasks as defined by project plans
- Attend project meetings, participate and communicate status, roadblocks, or delays with project tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with Network Infrastructure (Routers and switches)
- Experience with phone system, VPN access, connections and services.
- Experience in Windows Server, Active Directory
- Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies such as Exchange Online, OneDrive, Intune
- Experience maintaining backup solutions, knowledge of Commvault helpful
- Knowledge of all System Utility applications
- Knowledge of VDI Citrix Xen desktop
- Experience with VMware
- Experience with SANs
- Familiarity with scripting languages i.e., Powershell, Python helpful
- Skills in troubleshooting computer hardware and software
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work well with others
Licenses and Certifications:
- Comp TIA Network+ certification preferred
- Microsoft Certifications preferred
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or equivalent experience preferred
- Citrix Certification preferred
- Experience with Azure helpful
- Must maintain valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator
- Work environment is indoors, majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field; and knowledge typically gained through a minimum of five years' experience in Information Technology.
Compensation:
Compensation range for this position is $38.83 to 58.28 per hour.
