Purchasing and Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement and warehouse operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain management. Role is crucial in maintaining a seamless flow of goods, services, equipment, managing inventory, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and service vendors to meet the high standards of our airline catering services. In addition to local responsibilities, regional procurement responsibilities towards regional procurement.

A day as a Purchasing Manager:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and secure advantageous terms.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and product availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors and service providers to ensure timely and quality deliveries and/or service.
  • Collaborate with vendors to identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers/vendors promptly and professionally.
  • Implement effective inventory control practices to minimize stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Conduct regular stock assessments, identify slow-moving items, and implement appropriate measures.
  • Work closely with other departments to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Oversee the efficient and organized operation of the warehouse.
  • Implement and enhance warehouse processes to maximize space utilization and streamline operations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory records through regular audits and cycle counts. Upon acquisition of another customer, an increase of current volumes over 25% or other operational expansion, ownership of warehouse management will be discussed with executive management.
  • Display and endorse exemplary leadership across all departments and towards clients.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for professional development.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the warehouse.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in using Microsoft: Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Navision, and purchasing software preferred.
  • Contract and negotiation skills.
  • Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) knowledge required.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and with a diverse clientele that requires a hands-on approach to our guests’ needs.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
  • Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays.)
  • Three (3) to five (5) years in related purchasing field, knowledge of institutional and contract food and beverage purchasing.
