We are seeking candidates for the position of Trust and Investment Operations Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the trust and investment management operational functions within the organization. This individual works with Portfolio Managers, Trust Administrators and Operations staff to perform investment account maintenance and administrative support and serves as the primary back up for Operations. Responsibilities:
- Post cash and disbursement transactions to client accounts.
- Assist with onboarding new clients/assets and setting up assets on the trust accounting system.
- Monitor assets for voluntary and mandatory corporate actions and adjust positions across portfolios where necessary (i.e., Stock splits, tender offers, name/CUSIP changes, mergers & acquisitions, spin-offs etc.)
- Process daily operational trade/settlement data file imports, dividend/interest/capital gain postings, review custody bridge to ensure all account holdings are accurate.
- Reconcile previous day activity and post any incoming/outgoing funds.
- Submit electronic regulatory reporting requirements as required by the SEC and NC Banking Commission.
- Assist in preparing client reports and presentations on portfolio change strategies.
- Update policies/procedures used as a guideline for performing periodic tasks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures by providing necessary data/ad hoc reporting during audit periods.
- Communicate and address client inquiries by providing relevant information as requested by team members.
- Participate and contribute to various internal and committee meetings as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- 1-2 years of experience in administrative roles or trust investments/operations/brokerage.
- General knowledge and experience in financial accounting.
- Detail-oriented, efficient, organized, and focused on accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to hear and communicate verbally.
- Ability to see and read printed materials and computer monitors.
- Manual dexterity to operate a keyboard.
- Ability to sit for long periods.
- This position is primarily based in a temperature-controlled office environment.
- Work hours for this position can vary, however, general hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
