The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra – You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Global Product Quality Director.
Job Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring premium product hardware and software quality through Product Development by defining the strategy, people, processes, and tools driving A-grade product launch quality. This individual will act as the key quality interface with the global engineering leadership team and will be the subject matter expert to ensure delivery of premium quality to our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Create and lead a team of highly capable professional quality engineers embedded in the product development teams.
- Develop a strategy and build/lead a team to work with engineering leadership to create a thorough APQP plan for development programs.
- Integrate DFX into the LCP process with leading and lagging indicators of success.
- Work across functions to bring reliability and warranty data early into the design process.
- Oversee, teach, coach, and participate in DFMEA, PFMEA, and other quality activities for new product development programs.
- Define and enforce quality guidelines by leading project teams through quality activities and gates.
- Demonstrate the ability to engage, motivate, and energize employees at all levels.
- Prevent product quality defects to achieve quality goals.
- Drive quality throughout the organization by integrating quality standards.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience Requirements
Required
- Typically requires a minimum of 12 years related experience, including 5 years of management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team to successfully achieve business results.
- Proven experience in technical capability in Quality and Product Development.
- Knowledge of key systems and processes within Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Product Development.
Preferred
- Motorcycle enthusiast with knowledge of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and accessories.
