We are seeking a talented Data Modeler to join our team and play a key role in developing and managing a consistent, logical data model for the Volvo Group Unified Data Platform (UDP). In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our data models are optimized, accurate, and aligned to support our goal of becoming a truly data-driven company.

‘Data’ is a function within Volvo Digital & IT with the goal to unlock the power of data for the full Volvo Group to become a fully data-driven company! With data as the core component of our transformation journey, we will, together with our data talents, make the Volvo Group 2030 vision happen. We will take care of all aspects of Data, including quality assurance, documentation, availability, preparation, and use through BI, Analytics, and Machine Learning. We have an ambitious transformation ahead, with the implementation of the Data Layer in Azure and the reinforcement of Data Governance and Data Management across the entire Group.

The ‘Data’ function is a large multicultural organization with 600+ employees and contractors located mainly in 7 countries: Sweden, Poland, India, Belgium, Brazil, USA, and France.

We collaborate with other parts of the organization, including Volvo Digital & IT, Truck Divisions, Business Areas, and Group Functions. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts, and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common ambitions, and we win together.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to building the Volvo Group Data Model (VGDM) to structure data on the UDP for effective analytics and decision-making.
  2. Collaborate with data product teams to design and develop the Volvo Group logical and physical data model, based on the Teradata Vantage Manufacturing Logical Data Model (mLDM).
  3. Map the Volvo Group business glossary, conceptual data model, and source systems to the Teradata mLDM to accelerate data product development.
  4. Ensure consistency and quality by reviewing and integrating updates into the Volvo Group logical data model.
  5. Educate domain experts and teams on how to leverage the Volvo Group data model for analytics product creation.

Who are you?

You have over 5 years of experience in data modeling, with a strong grasp of both normalized and de-normalized models. You are proficient in data analysis, familiar with the Teradata Vantage Data Model (or similar), and can work in an agile environment. You enjoy collaborating and have a knack for negotiating stakeholder interests. If you have experience with co-creation methods and a strong command of English, this role could be your perfect fit.
