In this position, you will play a pivotal role in steering economic development strategies and spearheading customer conservation programs and corporate sustainability initiatives. You will lead the Sales & Sustainability Division to achieve OUC's revenue targets, community goals, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Sales, Account Management, Conservation, Sustainability, Renewables, and/or Customer Service in a utility or energy related service company to include a minimum of five (5) years of managerial or supervisory experience;
- Experience above to include application of sustainability practices in organization policy making, processes and design, modeling and data creation and reporting, financial analysis, setting and achieving sales targets and revenue goals;
- Valid driver license;
- Must be able to obtain the following certifications and/or licenses within the first two years of hire:
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- APPA Key Accounts Certification

Salary Range: $156,800.00 to $196,000.00 yearly commensurate with experience.

Job Purpose:
Lead the Sales & Sustainability Division to meet OUC, regulatory, and community goals. Work closely in collaboration with the Vice President of Customer Experience & Sales and other leadership teams to ensure maximum positive financial impact and satisfaction with OUC’s customers and the community.
Primary Functions:
- Develop growth strategies that are innovative and competitive, and that result in increased revenue and program participation by mid-size and key accounts; understand the local market and monitor national trends that influence customers and their utility needs to deliver proactive service and solutions;
- Develop and enhance strategic and operational relationships with key accounts that drive customer equity and achieve greater customer satisfaction and engagement; build executive level customer relationships personally;
- Lead or participate in successful negotiations with commercial/industrial customer base that result in significant financial or community impact; create partnerships and agreements with key customers consistent with OUC priorities and strategic initiatives; attend in person meetings with customers and community events;
- Oversee the sale of products and services such as exterior and interior lighting solutions, chilled water services, and electric vehicle charging stations; collaborate with the owners of product profit and loss (P&L) to establish sales targets and strategies;
- Lead economic development efforts that bring more business to the OUC service territory and engage in activities across the state that benefit OUC; obtain new revenue growth in traditional and non-traditional utility services; understand policy and practices that inhibit growth and collaborate to influence change;
- Create and implement energy and water conservation programs for residential and commercial customers and establish related goals; represent OUC in the community at events to educate on sustainability and conservation; provide oversight on rebate programs to ensure customers are maximizing on available dollars and funds are expended in an efficient and responsible manner;
- Lead OUC in achieving conservation goals as set by the Florida Public Service Commission, OUC’s Senior Management and Commission; contribute in creating and achieving related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for OUC;
- Develop OUC’s corporate sustainability strategy and work plan; oversee the implementation of programs and efforts; influence the leadership team to support sustainable practices and change across each business unit;
- Provide oversight of Development Services to integrate sustainable design into core processes and decision-making including influencing construction design and implementation to maximize efficiency, internal coordination of customer construction projects, and processing of availability and cost letters sent to customers;
- Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders in developing appropriate new products and services for commercial and industrial customers;
- Maintain updated knowledge of regulatory changes and industry trends including emerging sustainability issues and best practices; communicate and influence internal stakeholders in establishing and achieving sustainability goals;
- Create and deploy metrics for tracking and achieving OUC’s conservation and sustainability initiatives; Influence leadership using data informed approach to creating and updating sustainability targets and efforts;
- Determine and communicate strategy for sales plans and account management activities for key account executives and mid-size commercial representatives;
- Respond to escalated customer inquiries orally, in writing, or in person; negotiate to resolve matters, leverage cross departmental expertise when necessary;
- Oversee and lead a staff of direct and indirect reports to provide direction of day-to-day activities towards accomplishing the department’s strategic plan including, but not limited to, employee coaching, development, and performance evaluation;
- Recruit, retain, evaluate and align talent to current and future business needs; mitigate talent risks;
- Support and maintain effective business unit work groups and leadership team; foster a culture of respect and continuous learning;
- Develop internal policies, guidelines, procedures, and goals for the efficient and effective operation of the Sales & Sustainability Division; create operational metrics to measure goal attainment, drive quality and productivity across the division; keep abreast of latest market trends and regulatory items;
- Develop and administer the operating and capital budgets; ensure that operations are managed within authorized budgets; advise, develop, review and approve budgets, plans, and business goals;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Technical Requirements:
- Working knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
- Conservation/Demand Side Management principles and practices;
- Sales Cycle and Key Account Management;
- Project schedules and Gantt Charts;
- Interpreting KPIs and operational metrics (i.e. rebate adoption, financial targets, etc.);
- Familiarity with all, but not limited to, the following:
- Renewable energy principles and practices
- Software Application (i.e., AutoCAD, financial database, customer information system, GIS, etc.);
- Compliance reporting (i.e., Public Service Commission);
- Related industry, organizational and departmental policies, practices and procedures; legal guidelines, ordinances and laws;
- Ability to:
- Communicate effectively and build relationships with C-Suite, peers, and subordinates in order to accomplish business objectives;
- Solve complex issues within OUC as well as with external customers;
- Gather, research, organize, and summarize relevant information to support commission activities;
- Understand current residential, commercial and industrial utility markets, power engineering principles, financial analysis, rates and pricing and regulatory processes;
- Promote teamwork, motivate employees, and achieve expected results and goals;
- Make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages;
- Understand governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records;
- Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.).

Working Conditions:
This job is usually performed in an office work environment. This job requires traveling between OUC facilities and to customer locations, sites under development (including construction sites), community meetings, and special events within the service area.
Physical Requirements:
This job requires constant typing, reading, writing, detailed inspection. This job requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing (ladders, stairs, hills, etc.), bending/stooping, and driving a company vehicle.
