The General Manager of Parts and Product Support will play a key role in the daily operations and strategic planning of the parts and product support departments for all RoadBuilders locations. This position will be responsible for driving profitability of parts sales, promoting territory growth, building customer relationships, and developing employees through education and training. You will work closely with the executive team to continue to grow the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Parts Department

  • Manage and motivate all parts employees to increase sales and profitability
  • Provide training, education, and mentoring to assist in employee development
  • Responsible for achieving vendor KPIs in parts sales
  • Educate team on manufacturer programs and incentives to optimize margins and support.
  • Advise and participate in hiring of parts sales team at each location
  • Work with the executive management team to communicate parts delays, trends, and market awareness
  • Makes recommendations for changes to practices and policies to improve sales volume.
  • Monitor sales through reporting programs

Product Support Department

  • Lead all product support representatives to represent the distributor and the vendors that are represented within the region across all locations
  • Provide employee development through training and education
  • Mentor team members to achieve maximum parts and service sales goals
  • Develop commissions plans for product support representatives
  • Work closely with the service departments to promote large shop projects during slower construction seasons
  • Develop relationships with vendor representatives to utilize their expertise in the field to promote employee development, product knowledge and vendor support
  • Schedule and execute routine ride along with each outside PSR to visit with customers and help develop new business through physical machine inspection and digital technology
  • Responsible for all parts and service sales growth, profitability volume and territory coverage
  • Evaluates performance and expenses of each PSR to determine if goals are being met
  • Motivates the usage of CRM software and value add reporting

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Participate in local events and industry related activities to support shared causes and promote the company’s interests

  • Oversee and assist with company facilities while visiting various locations
  • Aid in executing the vision and goals of company
  • Actively supports and administers company policy as established
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to travel 30-50%

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferred but not required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience, Komatsu experience preferred
