About the role
Position Summary: Inbound Warehouse Associates play a key role as a member of the Distribution Center Team in fulfilling the company's mission - Help People Build Better Decks! Inbound Warehouse associates are accountable for receiving, putaway, and replenishment of items coming into the DC. Inbound Warehouse Associates are vital to the company's overall growth strategy and day-to-day efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibility Areas: Strategic, Communication, Financial, Management, Technical, etc
  • Accountabilities
    • Receive product in FIFO
      • Ensure items have scannable codes
      • Ensure paperwork is filled out correctly and any discrepancies marked
      • Ensure counts are correct
    • Putaway product
      • Ensure Inventory is Stocked Properly and Available for Order Fulfillment
    • Replenishment
      • Ensure that product is in pickable locations for outbound teams
  • Communication
    • Communicate directly with the General Manager, Department Supervisors, Team Leads, and fellow Decks Direct team members.
    • Participate in all start-up meetings to stay up to date on process changes, warehouse events, and projects
    • Communicate safety issues with distribution center leadership/safety committee
  • Execution
    • Receive product in FIFO
      • Ensure items have scannable codes
      • Ensure paperwork is filled out correctly and any discrepancies marked
      • Ensure counts are correct
    • Safely operate forklift to load, unload, sort and stage products into and out of the warehouse
    • Put-away and replenish stock accurately via WMS
    • Transfer product to various locations in the warehouse via WMS without damage
    • Other warehouse related duties as assigned
  • Measurement
    • Receive product while ensuring paperwork is filled out correctly and no damages are visible
    • Perform accurate stock movements in timely and efficient manner (Bin Transfer Accuracy)
    • Report inventory variances to the inventory control team (Bin Transfer Accuracy/Cycle Count)
  • Development
    • Participate in DC continuous improvement events
    • Cross training in additional functional areas of the DC to assist when needed
      • To include Cut Downs/Returns
Qualifications: degrees, certifications, experience, etc.
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Warehouse Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)
    • If no experience, willing to be certified and drive equipment daily (both inside and outside)
Working Environment:
  • Full-time 8:30am - 5pm Monday - Friday
    • Overtime as needed
  • Hourly / Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
  • Reports to: Receiving Lead
  • Location: Whitestown, IN
  • Internal position: not remote or telecommute
