Job Summary

This position is responsible for designing enhancements and new business applications and/or information systems solutions through integration of technical and business requirements; serving as technical designer to identify best solution and resulting technical specifications within limits of code environment; linking Business Analyst needs and Architect definition to technical solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed technical specifications and designs for Agile Scrum/waterfall/XP projects / system enhancements.
2. Provide application domain knowledge to the ADM team.
3. Manage unstable applications / systems by helping to resolve incidents and issues.
4. Support infrastructure first build with Solution Architects and Infrastructure Engineers.
5. Review, guide, troubleshoot and resolve contentious issues escalated during implementation.
6. Evaluate integration of SaaS / COTS packages to current environment.
7. Develop operating procedures and user manuals for transition into routine operations.
8. Enable building of knowledge databases for technology, solutions and domain areas.
9. Work with architecture, application services, infrastructure, release management and other relevant stakeholders to enable a smooth deployment.
10. Continuously work on capturing and transferring tacit knowledge to vendors and knowledge management systems.
11. Maintain the common I/O access subsystem (database access layer) used to access these files.
12. Maintain the in-house developed utilities that assist in managing the databases and their integrity.
13. Manage the underlying test platforms and files used by developers maintaining these applications.
14. Partner with system analysts and solution engineers to translate business and technical requirements into detailed designs that are secure, robust, scalable and extensible.
15. Write or review responses to audit requests. SDO severity and authorization reports.
16. Production and Test problem determination and debugging.
17. Capacity planning.
18. Testing processes for select system software upgrades.

Required Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 4 years Information Technology OR Technical Certification and/or College Courses and 6-year Information Technology experience OR 8 years Information Technology experience.

1. Experience with SQL and Data analysis, Data mapping.
2. Requirements definition & management.
3. Knowledge of application configuration.
4. Knowledge of Big Data Analytics - HAVeN / HADOOP/ Autonomy / Vertica.
5. Knowledge of Cloud computing / SaaS / IaaS / PaaS technologies.
6. Knowledge of Scripting Languages - BASH / PERL / PYTHON / RUBY.
7. Service Oriented Architecture - SOAP / REST.
8. Rapid prototyping.
9. SDLC Methodology - Agile / Scrum / Iterative Development.
10. System Performance management.
11. Conceptual thinking.
12. Creative thinking.
13. Problem solving and analytical thinking.
14. Strong oral/written communication skills.

Preferred Job qualifications:

1. Knowledge of scheduling systems Zena, Control – M.
2. Knowledge of AZURE DATA LAKE, DATABRICKS, and Kafka.
3. Knowledge of Unix.
