Sierra Nevada Corporation is expanding our Business Development team to support our Army Air Defense portfolio. As a Senior Business Development Manager, you'll meet with customers, facilitate new business opportunities, and develop and execute capture strategies. You'll oversee market assessment, monitor market activity, identify customer needs, and provide assistance for new product development planning activities. Your duties will also include assessing program opportunities against target market, core proficiency, revenue potential, company ability, and projected business forecasts.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations - with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.
This position may be located in Huntsville, AL, Fayetteville NC or Austin, Texas. There is a strong preference for this role to be in-office or hybrid.
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Advanced knowledge of US Department of Defense Military programs or Civil Space services, and acquisition procedure
- Ability to understand customer requirements and operations concepts and interpret, translate, and explain detailed technical ideas to technical and non-technical audience
- Progressive experience with technical marketing, proposal development, and program management or engineering design
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to motivate/work with others
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
- Typically, 6-8 years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Experience in Business Development or relevant Army acquisition experience
- Experience working with Army Futures Command in Air Defense
- Understanding of the U.S. Army Immediate Response Force (IRF) and their C4 and JADC2 Architecture. Background in the XVIII Airborne corps and USASOC
- Background Army systems, planning, requirements development to include an understanding of the Cross-Functional Teams (CFT), Capability Development Integration Directorate(s) (CDID) and the DevCom construct
