The Open Mobile Hub (OMH) Partner Engineering team collaborates with mobile ecosystem partners to enhance the capabilities of native and cross-platform technologies on Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS. The team engages with content providers (app developers), SDK service providers, and OEMs in a dynamic, technology-driven environment, balancing innovation in core mobile features with the integration of cutting-edge on-device AI capabilities.
In this role, you will be a technical liaison between our team and partners, ensuring successful adoption of the OMH and driving advancements in both traditional mobile features and on-device AI experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Envision and architect SDK solutions that meet the evolving needs of mobile ecosystem partners, including the integration of both core mobile functionalities and on-device AI capabilities. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate partner requirements into robust, scalable SDKs.
- Manage features and provide guidance on best practices for OMH implementation to partners, covering both core mobile functionalities and on-device AI integration, representing both engineering and product teams.
- Oversee the deployment of Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS OMH SDK features and partner requirements, encompassing both traditional features and on-device AI capabilities, with internal stakeholders, ensuring ecosystem partner adoption.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of the SDKs in the development frameworks where the SDKs are delivered, including those related to core mobile features and on-device AI, working alongside engineering and partners to ensure the product meets requirements.
- Deliver OMH knowledge, encompassing insights into both core mobile technologies and on-device AI technologies and best practices, through conferences and talks.
- Lead thought leadership in OMH by creating scalable content, including conference talks, blog posts, videos, and partner-specific sessions.
- Contribute to designing a scalable compatibility verification program with various engineering teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in mobile device/application development, with knowledge of mobile technologies.
- 6 years of experience in technical troubleshooting and managing internal/external partners or customers in partner-facing environments such as customer success, developer relations, technical solutions architect / consultant.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience handling multiple customers and streams of work.
- 3 years of experience developing mobile apps in Android Native or React Native.
- Familiarity with AI, LLM, machine learning concepts, RAG, context retrieval, edge AI, and SLM.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a customer facing engineering role such as a solution consultant, solutions architect, sales engineer, for a global software enterprise.
- 6 years of experience in system design or in one programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, JavaScript).
- Hands-on experience with on-device AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch Mobile, Core ML, AICore, Gemini Nano) and deep expertise in other mobile technologies such as Maps, Storage, Authentication, In-app purchases, Messaging, etc
- Experience implementing AI-driven features in mobile apps, optimizing performance and efficiency for either AI models on mobile devices and core mobile functionalities.
- Expert in Mandarin strongly preferred since this position will need to be able to effectively interface with teams in China who will primarily communicate in Mandarin.
Work Location: San Jose, CA, USA
This full-time position base salary range is $131,000 ~ $197,000, depending on job-related skills, years of relevant experience, educational backgrounds, qualifications, and other job-related factors. The range displayed is for position based in San Jose, California. Additional details (bonus, benefits, relocation, etc.) of compensation package will be provided to candidates during the interview process.
