Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery in Edison, NJ

**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience required
**License:** Active RN license
**Certifications:**
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NRP
- C-EFM (Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
**Must-Have:**
- Experience circulating with C-sections
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- C-EFM certification
**Job Description:**
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care.
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs.
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop and coordinate individualized care plans for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessment based on patient problems or needs and the physician's medical diagnosis.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Manage care of patients effectively.
- Document care based on standards of care, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support the adoption of practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care aligned with the professional nursing practice model.
- Assist nursing staff by performing tasks similar to a Patient Care Technician, such as taking vitals.
- Work every other weekend as required, and holidays as needed.
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2, with a maximum ratio of 1:3.
- Handle approximately 130-160 births per month, with 40-60 C-sections monthly.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with IV insertions, IV pumps, blood draws, labor bed experience, warmers, PCA and Epidural pumps, SCD machines, Pulse Oximetry, and O2 setup.
- Scrub experience is preferred.
- An Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- English language proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is required.
