The Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University offers a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate programs. At the undergraduate level, students can earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BABA) with a variety of major options and combinations including accounting, business analytics, business and law, economics, finance, marketing, and management. For those interested in the intersection of business and society, the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics degree emphasizes economics as a social science, equipping students to solve important problems in the private, nonprofit, and public sectors or pursue graduate studies.
At the graduate level, Albers offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in various formats, including full-time, part-time, and online, as well as an Early Career MBA. The MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management has both face-to-face and online options. For experienced professionals, the Executive MBA provides a flexible option to balance work and education. Specialized knowledge can be gained through the Master of Science (MS) programs in accounting and analytics, finance, business analytics and cybersecurity leadership.
Reporting to the Provost and Chief Academic Officer, the successful candidate will possess a proven track record of academic excellence, strategic thinking and execution, fundraising, change management, and collaborative leadership. They will be committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment, and will have had experience in supporting DEI initiatives. They will have a strong belief in the positive impact of business on society, and will be a leader in leveraging opportunities in technology and innovation – including in online and hybrid education. As Dean, they will provide leadership to faculty and staff in scholarly, pedagogical and student support and success endeavors, and encourage interdisciplinary initiatives and innovations across the University. The Dean must ensure an appropriate operating and financial discipline consistent with the university’s policies and have experience with administrative oversight.
The Dean will be a strong communicator and change agent, able to devise and articulate a bold vision for the school and inspire others to excel. In addition, the Dean will be responsible for fundraising and partnerships that expand the opportunities for students and the greater impact of Albers on the community and the world. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the evolving business landscape and a passion for preparing students for successful careers where they make a difference above and beyond the bottom line.
