IMMEDIATE OPENING - PLAINTIFF P.I. ATTORNEY


Cohen Law Partners (californiabicycleattorney.com) seeks a full-time plaintiff P.I. litigation attorney. We are a small, friendly, growing, fluid and dynamic Martindale Hubbell AV-rated law firm.


The ideal candidate has two or more years of experience in personal injury litigation. We are also amenable to training the right newly-barred attorney, assuming it is a good fit.


The associate will work with three attorneys, a paralegal, a case manager and a legal assistant. This is a great opportunity to try cases and be part of a nimble, effective and purpose-driven team. Good spelling, grammar, research and writing skills are a must.


We provide ample opportunity for professional growth, including ongoing CLE and attendance at CAALA.


Job duties include:

Propounding Discovery Requests and prepare Discovery Responses;

Reviewing discovery responses and productions;

Calendaring (Abacus);

Trial Preparation, Trial Notebooks, Jury Instructions, Motions in Limine, Civil Subpoenas, Exhibit Lists, Witness Lists;

Filing and service requirements for Superior Court;

Fluency in the Code of Civil Procedure, Local Rules, Rules of Court, Evidence Code and Vehicle Code;

Taking and defending depositions;

Trial;

Legal research and writing;

Law and Motion;

Negotiating doctors' liens;

Coordinating client care;

Negotiating case settlements;

Writing Demand letters, Pleadings, Law and Motion, Mediation and Trial Briefs, Opposing MSJs and Demurrers, meet and confer letters, MILs and other trial documents;

Preparing closing Statements;

Other legal work.
