Dialysis Access Specialist (West)

At Medtronic you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation, while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.

A Day in the Life

Make an impact on patients suffering from End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD). Help improve the patient experience by educating key stakeholders at dialysis clinics – nurses, patient care technicians – on the Ellipsys Vascular Access System.

We are looking for a remote Field Marketing Specialist who will be responsible for working within local markets to raise awareness of dialysis access therapies, including Medtronic’s Arteriovenous (AV) products. Through relationship development and in-services, this person will help dialysis centers understand the importance of and tips for proper cannulation of AV Fistula created using the Ellipsys Vascular Access System. This role sits within the AV Marketing team and will collaborate closely with Sales, Medical Education, and Product Management.

To be successful in this role you will need to develop comprehensive knowledge of the ESKD disease state, patient journey, dialysis access therapies, Medtronic AV therapies, and cannulation techniques – and communicate that knowledge to stakeholders within the ESKD community to support our US marketing strategy.

A day in the life

  • You will provide training and education on assessing and cannulating Ellipsys fistulae to dialysis center staff.
  • You will deploy marketing tactics to increase awareness and knowledge across your region, including leading in-services and training presentations at dialysis clinics and providing representation at medical society or patient events.
  • You will increase market penetration for therapies that treat ESKD, including Medtronic arteriovenous therapies, by being the area expert and raising awareness on AV therapies, patient journey, patient barriers to care in the dialysis clinics, and cannulation techniques.
  • You will work with the marketing team, medical affairs team, sales district managers, territory managers, and clinical specialists to execute strategies and business plans around the patient journey in the dialysis clinics.
  • You will create strong relationships with relevant ESKD stakeholders in your area including Medtronic customers / treating physicians, referring physicians, and dialysis clinic personnel.
  • You will become a subject matter expert on ESKD, AV therapies, the patient journey, and cannulation best practices.
  • You will contribute to the creation of Field Marketing assets, including educational collateral and presentations for dialysis clinic personnel.
  • You will provide monthly and quarterly summaries of your activities to the leadership team.
  • You will develop quarterly business plans in partnership with the sales organization to outline local strategies, tactics, and outcomes.

Expectations

  • Consistently execute all assigned responsibilities.
  • Consistently aide in the achievement of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) through execution of account market development initiatives, cannulation support, and collaboration with Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists.
  • Represent Medtronic to the highest standard.
  • Positively contribute to the Ellipsys Field team culture.
  • Consistently partner and collaborate with clinical specialists and other internal key stakeholders.
  • Embody the Medtronic Mindset through daily execution of responsibilities.
  • Consistently aid in achieving AOP through account-based market development activities and positive clinical outcomes via case support.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience in marketing, clinical, or support role (2 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree).
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time (up to every week).
