The Chief Financial Officer oversees all finance, accounting and reporting functions across the enterprise while maintaining appropriate internal controls and regulatory compliance. Put your property management finance skills and nonprofit accounting skills to work supporting our large, busy enterprise! We house more 2,000 collegiate members in 75 facilities nationwide and provide meaningful leadership and philanthropic experiences to more 19,000 collegiate members every year. Your knowledge of property management finance will be critical to maintaining the financial integrity of our National Housing Corporation. Your knowledge of non-profit fiscal management will be required to support our Fraternity, Foundation and employment agency.
Join our vibrant, fast-paced, collaborative team in supporting this enterprise that has been around since 1885! Success in the CFO role will be based on:
- Experience and knowledge of financial management for multiple commercial properties including banking relationships and development/execution of funding plans for large renovations and/or builds.
- Experience and knowledge of fiscal operations for non-profit corporations (501(c)(7) and 501(c)(3) - we have both). Long-term financial planning and design of internal controls are key here.
- Ability to communicate financial realities to non-financial stakeholders in an understandable and engaging way.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing a team of 5 finance professionals to optimize performance of the team and each individual contributor.
- Proficiency in Excel at an advanced level - knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUPS and other advanced functions (not macros). Technical aptitude to quickly learn and embrace other software packages specific to our industry is critical (Blackbaud Financial Edge experience useful, but not required).

Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience in accounting and finance
- Non-profit industry experience is strongly desired; experience working with 501(c)(7) and 501(c)(3) nonprofits is preferred
- Experience in commercial banking and/or property management preferred
- Strong service orientation, outstanding presentation skills, professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and communication skills
- Works with a sense of urgency; manages multiple initiatives simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel; technical aptitude to learn internal database and software packages
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree required with major field of study in accounting, finance or business administration. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred.
