This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago office and will require you to be in office Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Here at Grindr, we work each day to build a better, safer, and more equitable world for the global queer community and we are looking for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to support our growth and culture across the company. This highly cross-functional role will be a founding pillar of a small but mighty people team, and you’ll work closely with colleagues focused on people operations, recruiting, finance, legal, and IT/security, as well as our amazing employee base and managers. You will act as a trusted team member to execute on a wide range of employee related topics.
What’s the job?
- Serve as the go-to resource to resolve day-to-day employee questions and be responsible for discerning issues that need escalation.
- Manage our immigration program to support recruitment and ongoing immigration activities for our existing employees.
- Manage employee leaves of absence.
- Collaborate in the design and implementation of core HR programs and play a key role in the implementation of such programs, including new hire onboarding, offboarding, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Develop and implement knowledge management and communication efforts to support the adoption and engagement of programs among managers and employees.
- Develop and update HR policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and industry best practices.
- Assist with and at times lead process improvement initiatives within the HR team and with cross-functional teams (e.g., employee exit interviews, internal transfers, leaves of absence, etc.).
- Assist with and at times lead engagement initiatives in the local office.
- Other projects as needed.
What We'll Love About You
- You have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and minimum of 5+ years experience working in Human Resources, People Operations, or as an HR Generalist.
- You have worked at a tech company or in a similarly fast-paced environment.
- You have experience in Employee Relations and coaching managers through complex issues.

Grindr is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will also be eligible for equity, benefits, and a company bonus program.
Base Pay Range: $95,000—$120,000 USD
