The Licensed Mental Health Practitioner/Licensed Professional Counselor provides individual and group therapeutic services in a variety of settings across the age span and works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Licensed Mental Health Practitioner / Licensed Professional Counselor administers an assortment of assessment tools and develop programming as needed to assist in the treatment of a variety of behavioral disorders and disabilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Provides mental/behavioral healthcare for persons with mental health concerns, substance use issues, cognitive disabilities, and other mental/physical conditionsEvaluates patient’s physical or mental conditionTreats patients in an inpatient or outpatient treatment facility or in a correctional/forensic facility using a multidisciplinary approachProvides individual and group therapeutic servicesProvides targeting counseling designed to help the individual overcome their mental health concerns or substance abuse issuesRemains knowledgeable of the latest methodologies in counseling to provide patients with the best possible careRefers patients to other mental healthcare or medical providers as necessaryDevelops and implements treatment plansProvides a range of brief prevention, treatment and recovery services, as well as long-term treatment and supportProvides documentation to include, progress notes, assessments, and treatment activities that will be requiredKnowledgeable with treatments such as dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and complicated griefMaintains confidentiality of records relating to patients’ treatmentPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:Licensed as a Mental Health Practitioner or Licensed Professional Counselor in state practicing requiredComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
