Job DescriptionLuxury and tranquility in an authentic setting, await our Guests at a Fairmont Spa. As a Massage Therapist our Guests will enjoy the professional and personalized spa experience you offer. The expertise and attention to detail you provide during their treatment will ensure our guests have a memory to share.
Reporting to the Director of Spa, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- Create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and guests during the arrival and departure process, and during the treatment.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance.
- Interact and communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management team
- Provide an exceptional experience to all guests, promptly handling any guest comments, complaints, or concerns with discretion and urgency
- Perform massage treatment while maintaining the client's comfort at all times
- Perform 45, 60, 90 and 120-minute massages as required
- Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, andholidays
- Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to their needs and expectations
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and neat work environment at all times, ensuring all equipment is in safe working order.
- Prepare and refresh the treatment rooms for the guests.
- Assist with the removal of linen and towels for expedited service.
- Actively participate in other areas of the spa operations, such as body treatments and product knowledge, and maintain cleanliness and stock all wellness facilities as needed including but not limited to: relaxation lounge, locker rooms, gym, and back of house areas
- Use upselling techniques to actively promote retail sales and enhancements
- Assist guests regarding hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way
- Maintain all brand and quality luxury service standards
- Maintain consistency in accordance to Forbes/LQA and Fairmont standards
- Conduct self-audits and participate in the feedback review to improve service levels.
- Communicate maintenance deficiencies in a timely manner
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times and that all colleagues are committed to working safely
- Ensure confidentiality of all guest sensitive information at all times.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certification from an accredited school of Massage required
- Certified in California, namely California Massage Therapy Council
- 1-yearexperience as a massage therapistpreferred
- Previous experience in luxury environment preferred
- All professional licenses are to be current
- Must successfully complete the Fairmont Breakers training program and hands-on evaluation for this role
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Must have a professional image and personality
- Positive attitude
- Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
- Strong guest service orientation required
- Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, andholidays
