Community Youth Services’ Career Trek Program is looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Career Trek Program Director As a Career Trek Director, you will oversee the comprehensive management of the youth employment program, ensuring compliance with WIOA requirements and achieving program goals. Your role involves supervising staff, planning participant enrollment, and recruiting target groups to meet contract specifications. You will review intake files for eligibility, track support services and training requests, and monitor terminations and placements to prepare accurate reports. Additionally, you will develop annual program plans, attend contractor meetings, and collaborate with community partners to ensure successful outcomes in enrollment, training, credentials, and employment. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining the 14 service program elements and fostering a supportive environment for staff and participants.


This is a full-time, exempt position with starting pay from $ 4,563 to $4,691 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Staff: Oversee and manage staff within the youth employment program (WIOA).
  • Monitor WIOA Requirements: Ensure compliance with all WIOA regulations and guidelines.
  • Plan Enrollment Schedules: Develop and implement participant enrollment schedules to meet contract requirements.
  • Recruit Target Groups: Strategize and execute recruitment plans to serve significant segments as outlined in the WIOA contract.
  • Review Intake Files: Ensure all intake files are complete and eligibility determinations are accurate.
  • Track Support Services and Training Requests: Monitor and review all support services and participant training requests for accuracy.
  • Track Terminations and Placements: Prepare reports and submit payment requests by tracking all terminations and placements.
  • Report Program Accomplishments: Provide monthly and quarterly reports to compare actual performance against planned goals.
  • Develop Annual Program Plans: Create annual plans to schedule enrollment periods and program activities.
  • Attend Contractor Meetings: Participate in monthly meetings with contractors to discuss program progress and issues.
  • Collaborate with Community Partners: Work collaboratively with multiple community partners to enhance program effectiveness.
  • Ensure Outcomes: Achieve and maintain outcomes for enrollment, training, credentials, and employment.
  • Maintain Service Program Elements: Ensure the availability and quality of the 14 service program elements for participants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Education, Social Work, Human Services, or a related discipline. Directly related job experience and personal lived experience in youth, job development, community partnerships, case management experience, knowledge of community resources can be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Familiarity with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requirements and guidelines.
  • Proven ability to supervise and manage staff effectively.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to manage enrollment schedules, recruitment, and program plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaborating with community partners.
  • Ability to review intake files, track support services, and prepare accurate reports.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple community partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes in enrollment, training, credentials, and employment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing program requirements and participant needs.
  • Valid TB test results within the previous 12 months prior to hire or the ability to obtain a negative TB test within 30 days of employment.
  • The ability to manage confidential materials in a professional manner.
