Summary :
- Operate a mammography unit to produce images of the breasts for diagnostic purposes under direction of a physician.
- Exhibits strong anatomy knowledge, communication, computer skills, customer service, documentation review, proficient in FDA regulation and Medical Imaging.
- Reports to the Supervisor of the Unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist patient to procedure room.
- Explain procedure and position patients in Mammography Machine.
- Assist patient into Mammography Machine.
- Reviews physician’s request for mammography procedure and identifies the patient per department policy.
- Obtains patient history and documents findings.
- Maintain Clean Technique.
- Operate mammography and tomography machines.
- Evaluate quality assurance performance.
- Monitor performance of mammography and images.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Two year degree in Mammography Technology.
- One year of experience as Interventional Mammography Technician in a Healthcare Setting.
- Current AHA BLS.
