Job Description

The Director of HCP marketing, PBC will be responsible for supporting Sales and Marketing efforts by driving promotional excellence. This role includes assisting with the development and implementation of promotional campaigns and educational activities for people living with PBC. The role will report directly to the Senior Director, Marketing, HCP Promotions, PBC.

  1. Lead development and deployment of pre-launch initiatives across channels – including personal and non-personal.
  2. Develop and execute HCP focused tactical initiatives including but not limited to websites, social media, digital/print media initiatives, SEO/SEM, email marketing and optimize execution and success of the brand.
  3. Collaborate with HCP market research and leverage multiple data sources including but not limited to advisory boards, field force inputs, industry reports, and media consumption trends to uncover emerging needs, opportunities, and innovative approaches to engage audience segments.
  4. Effectively manage multiple agency partners to produce deliverables on strategy, within timelines, on budget, and measure outcomes.
  5. Closely manage media budget targets for assigned programs.
  6. Gain approval for marketing materials through internal review process including management reviews and Med-Legal-Reg and secure final production.
  7. Ensure effective rollout of marketing campaigns to the field team through cycle meetings & training sessions, in close cooperation with the sales management & trainers.
  8. Serve as a core team member on development of LSP, POA, and Launch Readiness Reviews.
  9. Develop and deliver presentations to key internal stakeholders (business unit, leadership team, sales teams) and external audiences.
  10. Collaborate with Training & Development to define PBC training objectives and content.
  11. Leverage data and analytics to identify KPIs, track performance of initiatives, and optimize strategy.
  12. Inspire the sales force as a passionate and persuasive brand champion.
  13. Ensure operational excellence and compliant activation of all key deliverables.
  14. Effectively manage agency partners to produce deliverables within timelines and budgets.
  15. Manage marketing budget closely and ensure expenditure is aligned with the brand strategy and tactical plans.
  16. Create a culture where patients and customers are at the center of thinking and operations.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience or
Masters' Degree and Ten Years’ Experience or
Ph.D. and Four Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MBA with 8 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry in marketing, preferably in both small and large companies.
  2. Prior relevant therapeutic area experience: rare disease, liver, or immunology.
  3. US launch experience in a competitive market space.
  4. Sub-part H materials pre-clearance experience.
  5. Pharmaceutical/biotech field Sales experience.
  6. Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  7. Highly proficient in MS Office; skilled at using PowerPoint and Excel to interpret pharmaceutical product forecast models and quantitative analyses.
  8. Working knowledge and understanding of the Pharma industry, broad therapeutic areas/disease states, drugs/treatments, and related regulatory, commercialization and compliance requirements.

The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, coachable, perceptive and an analytical problem solver with a track record of success in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. The candidate will be comfortable making decisions in ambiguous situations, is a team player, inclusive, and manifests trust. Importantly, the successful candidate will put patients first and have a passion for science.

The salary range for this position is: $221,170.00 - $286,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
