Purpose In the role of Accounting Manager in Graduate Medical Education (GME) you will manage the day to day, monthly, quarterly, and annual Accounting, and Financial Audit functions for the Medical College of WI Affiliated Hospitals, Inc (MCWAH), a non-profit corporation with \$80+ million in member billings and expenses, in excess of \$8 million in total assets, and 950 house staff employees with a high turnover rate due to cyclical program graduation timelines. Oversee the payroll and billing functions while providing accounting direction and advice to support the two Program Manager\'s I who have defined responsibilities in these areas. Process the day-to-day accounting activity and manage AR, AP, and all outstanding items. Perform complex financial and business-related analysis, data manipulation, and compliance review. Provide research, information, and recommendations to the Executive Director and Administrator. Support the Executive Director and Administrator in related presentations to the MCWAH Executive CommitteeBoard of Directors as needed. Primary Functions Manage the Accounting systems for the Medical College of WI Affiliated Hospitals, Inc. (MCWAH) in a timely and accurate manner on a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis utilizing QuickBooks accounting software. Provide accounting direction and advice as new accounting and related system (billing, AP, payroll) situations or issues arise. Process the day-to-day accounting activity (deposits, checks, journal entries and similar routine accounting transactions). Manage AR, AP, and all outstanding items; manage compliance with the annual form 1099 reporting requirement. Perform various audits on a monthly and quarterly basis in order to identify and correct issues on a timely basis, minimizing any financial and administrative impact on MCWAH. Recommend and implement procedural changes as needed. Manage the annual external audit. Ensure the maintenance of adequate internal controls as required by the risk assessment requirements for the external audit; on an ongoing basis assess, evaluate, and provide assurance with related documentation of MCWAH\'s internal control structure.
