We are seeking a dynamic University Finance Director/CFO to guide our financial strategy, planning, and operations. Join a team committed to fostering growth, financial stability, and student success.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership : Advise the President, VP of Operations, and Board of Regents on financial planning and growth strategies. Shape the future of the university through sound financial practices.
  • Financial Oversight : Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, cash management, and investment strategies that optimize resources and enhance liquidity.
  • Operational Excellence : Oversee all financial controls and reporting for state, federal, and funding agencies. Implement best practices to meet budgetary goals and compliance standards.
  • Business Management : Establish a high-performing finance team, reviewing grants, contracts, and revenue-generating services. Lead the development of financial systems to manage programs funded by external agencies.
  • Relationship Management : Maintain relationships with financial institutions, stakeholders, and the investment community. Prepare detailed reports on the university's financial position and future projections.
  • Efficiency & Compliance : Ensure compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards while continuously improving internal controls and processes.
Leadership & Team Management:
  • Lead and inspire the finance team through effective communication, coaching, and staff development.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and personnel decisions to maintain a high-performing finance department.
  • Foster collaboration through regular team meetings to keep everyone aligned with departmental objectives.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience : Minimum of 10 years in finance/accounting roles, with 5 years in a management position, ideally within higher education. Experience with Jenzabar platform preferred.
  • Certification : CPA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, governmental accounting standards, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and maintain financial health for complex organizations.
