Summary:As our Family Service Worker, you will advocate for the children and families in the Head Start program. You will rely on your natural rapport-building skills as you develop and maintain genuine relationships with each family you work with. You have a strong sense of duty and will ensure accurate data is consistently maintained to keep abreast on updates about children and families. You are helpful and service-oriented by nature and will help families identify their strengths and areas of improvement to set actionable goals. We are Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP), and we are searching for a diligent Family Service Worker to support our Head Start families and ensure proper follow-through on needed services.What you'll need to be our Family Service Worker:Congenial and cooperative with an efficient, precise work ethicDetail-oriented, with a preference for high quality and technical expertiseA highly precise worker, with a strong adherence to established guidelines· Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field.· Work experience in a related field for a minimum of 1-2 years· Additional Education may be substituted in the place of experience to meet requirements to be hired.What you'll do as the Family Service Worker:Develop and maintain relationships with each Head Start and/or Early Head Start family.Help families identify their strengths and weaknesses with the Family Assessment and set goals with the Family Partnership Agreement and follow through with the delivery of needed services.Document by using the Family Assessment and Family Partnership Agreement forms. Verify with documentation within required time frames.Work as a team with teaching staff to acquire paperwork and updates about children and families. Participate in the classroom as a Team Member to provide support to team to accomplish compliance with established standards, rules and requirements as needed.Assist the health team in obtaining hearing screenings and other required health documents if needed.Maintain accurate files, both written and electronic in accordance with State and Federal Head Start and/or Early Head Start Regulations and Performance Standards. Ensure accurate data is entered by deadlines in the Child Plus tracking system. Verify documentation through ongoing monitoring of printed reports.Contact parents of Head Start and/or Early Head Start children with irregular attendance weekly. Document all contact with the family in Child Plus notes. Provide analysis monthly of why attendance falls under 85%.Assist in planning and implementation of monthly Parent Engagement meetings/activities. Attend all parent activities.Recruit Head Start and/or Early Head Start children.
