Salary Range: $280K to 380K

Position Summary
The Head of Strategy & Value Creation (HSVC) will serve as a senior leader and trusted advisor to the CEO, working cross-functionally with the KBS leadership team in driving its near-term strategic priorities and long-term strategic goals (KBS Value Creation Plan).

The HSVC will collaborate with leaders to deliver KBS’s business transformation, working closely with senior leaders across the business to understand and identify areas of opportunity, develop the overall transformation implementation plan and roadmap, and in partnership with C-Suite leaders drive successful implementation, while delivering leadership and oversight across key strategic deliverables.

The HSVC will be as comfortable in the Board room as they are working with operations.

The HSVC will be charged with supporting the delivery of an agile Transformational agenda that keeps pace with the growth of the business and champions better ways to improve business operations and performance. This individual will help lead the identification, prioritization and coordinate cross-functional action to accelerate and sustain long-term value creation.

This leader will be a broadly experienced Business Operations leader, who has a track record for successfully elevating businesses in a fast-paced, dynamic, lead from the front culture. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who is execution oriented. An authentic leader who is energized by the mission, as well as motivated to be part of an organization that is forward-thinking and progressive, while also being sensitive to the traditional aspects of the company that need to evolve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the face for the Value Creation Plan, set the tone, convey enthusiasm; challenge current wisdom and support the team; help leaders accelerate execution; provide structure and consistency to internal discussions.
  • Support design and drive completion of critical initiatives in alignment with the established business strategy/plan; collaborate with leaders to drive organization forward and hold accountable those responsible for daily actions and initiatives; provide analytical support to the wider organization and transformation team; ensure things get done.
  • Orchestrate complex processes that involve a large number of discrete tasks; coordinate cross-functional initiatives. Lead monthly steering group sessions and cross-workstream forums to drive decision-making and alignment within and across the global functions. Proactively identify cross-program and initiative dependencies and intersections that may impact prioritization, sequencing and execution.
  • Partner with the business/operations to identify and analyze cost-saving and productivity opportunities, perform data analysis to determine ROI and lead initiatives to realize improvements including but not limited to Business Process Outsourcing Plans, Back Office Restructuring, and implementation of Operations Support Model working closely with Operations team.
  • Work closely with business leaders creating transparency and visibility by tracking progress and enabling better and faster decision making, and results predictability.
  • Establish key performance indicators and measurement systems to track progress and efficacy of projects and continued operations.
  • Identify and monitor risks and issues and remove impediments by anticipating needs and engaging with the right stakeholders to find swift solutions.
  • Lead annual strategic planning process; synthesize input and initiatives plan by functional team, aligned to corporate strategy; supporting the development and alignment of functional strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Maintain and update the strategic plan; incorporate new market and organizational insights.
  • Prepare updates and insights for monthly meetings and reports, board meetings, or other as required.
  • Prepare and lead “Value Creation” updates with the CEO and to the Board, updating on business progress and growth initiatives.
  • Lead the integration of KBS subsidiaries (Bravo! & Olympus).
  • Validate all efforts/initiatives with facts, data and independent analysis; provide valued processes and tools.
  • Act as a role model; encourage and imbed behaviors required for change.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Education and Experience: A BS in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain or equivalent, and a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience having served as a COO/VP Operations leader at scale in a highly complex company with services business.
  • Business Orientation: Possesses distinct business and financial acumen, with experience leading change and delivering successful transformations with measurable results. Collaborates with the executive team and serves as a thought partner and advisor to peers, aligning strategic business initiatives with the enterprise-wide strategy.
  • Change Leadership: A track record of operating in business environments requiring significant evolution/transformation, specifically in the areas of process standardization and operational improvement. Possesses a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Board and Governance: A track record of understanding the complexity of and working successfully with a public company Board of Directors and its Compensation Committee. Executive presence and experience to quickly gain credibility with the EC and the Board.
  • Professional and Cultural Characteristics: A bias toward action and a lead from the front mindset.
