POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for leading Curebound’s marketing efforts, developing and implementing strategies that drive brand awareness, participant engagement, and fundraising growth. This individual will oversee the marketing team within the Brand + Experience department, manage budgets, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all marketing initiatives align with business goals. The ideal candidate is a creative leader with strong analytical skills, a proven track record of driving marketing strategy and plan and delivering measurable results, with a passion for curing cancer. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the direction of the company’s marketing efforts and contribute significantly to its success. The Director of Marketing will play a key role in growing Curebound’s market presence and driving long-term growth as we expand our presence.

PRIMARY ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and deliver marketing strategies to drive Curebound Strategic Plan Goals (40%)

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that support Curebound’s fundraising goals and drive growth including campaigns across digital, social, print, and other media.
  • Explore creative new marketing plans with new outlets to increase Curebound’s reach
  • Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Implement target audiences and tailor marketing initiatives to resonate with diverse customers.
  • Oversee the planning, development, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns, ensuring consistent experience and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive online marketing initiatives including SEO, social media, email marketing, and website.
  • Oversee external communications, including public relations, media relations, and press releases.
  • Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to various initiatives.
  • Work with the Research and Impact department to deliver comprehensive marketing strategies to address communication, publication, and recruitment goals.
  • Develop technology strategies to ensure our tools and resources are optimal to achieve our goals.
  • Establish relationship with PR partner and other vendor partners.

Implement the Curebound brand and experience across all marketing channels (35%)

  • Work with Sr. Director to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing/brand strategy that aligns with Curebound's mission, vision, and business objectives.
  • Maintain and enhance brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging, visuals, and tone across all platforms and experiences.
  • Lead brand positioning efforts, ensuring the brand remains relevant and competitive.
  • Ensure that the experience of constituents is engaging and meaningful across all platforms

Provide Leadership & Team Management (15%)

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and performance.
  • Set clear objectives, performance expectations, and KPIs, and provide feedback and development.
  • Serve as an industry expert and trend setter. Know the marketing world and what trends and outlets are relevant and exciting.
  • Serve as the marketing expert within the organization.

Other duties as assigned (10%)

REQUISITE SKILLS + EXPERIENCE

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Non-profit marketing experience preferred but not required
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies with measurable outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, branding, and campaign management
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Experience working with marketing tools such as CRM systems (Salesforce), analytics platforms (Google Analytics), and content management systems
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently while holding self and others accountable
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and tracking ROI
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Desire to build an integrated marketing strategy for a growing organization
  • Excited to serve as a resident expert in marketing

COMPENSATION

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the compensation target for this position, exclusive of additional benefits, is $100K. Final base salary will be determined based on factors such as previous experience, specific skills, and/or education. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
