Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment)

The United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Florida's (USAO-SDFL) mission is to enforce and defend the laws of the United States of America through the prosecution of criminal cases brought by the Federal government; the prosecution and defense of civil cases in which the United States is a party; and the collection of debts owed to the Federal government that are administratively uncollectible.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida, located in Miami, Florida, focusing on providing a variety of management advisory services to recruit for positions using automated staffing and recruitment tools for the collective United States Attorney's Offices.

Typical work assignments will include:

  • Provide technical and management advisory support services for the full range of delegated examining actions.
  • Apply a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of recruitment and placement principles and broad personnel management knowledge to advise hiring managers on recruitment actions.
  • Explore alternative courses of action to accommodate management needs and considerations.
  • Work with key management officials in a manner that inspires respect and confidence in the final work product.
Salary

$92,619 - $120,401/year

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying:

To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess:

Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service performing (obtained in either the public or private sectors) 3 of the 4 duties listed below:
  • Applying human resource laws and regulations to provide management advice on substantive organizational human resource functions;
  • Conducting technical advisory services to provide recommendations that relate to position classification;
  • Applying personnel staffing and recruitment practices sufficient to provide management with strategies to address recruitment and placement needs;
  • Utilizing efficient techniques to fill vacancies and meet human resources goals of the organizations serviced.
Selective Placement Factor (SPF): This position requires a SPF be met in order to meet minimum requirements for the position. Applicants who do not meet the SPF are ineligible for further consideration.
  • You must possess a current and valid Delegated Examining (DE) Certification for this position. (You must provide a valid and current DE certification with your application documents to be considered qualified).

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level.
  • You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases) .
