Job Summary:

Meneses Law has an immediate opening for a Case Review Attorney to join our dynamic law firm. The Attorney will assist the Lead Attorney reviewing cases to assist our clients seeking legal options. The immigration attorney interprets and provides advice on migration, citizenship, business immigration issues, political asylum, and on the processes through which people may secure travel, work, or residency. Immigration attorneys also represent clients in immigration proceedings in US Immigration court.


Must have at least 2 years of court experience .

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Excellent understanding of Immigration Law.
  • Manage highly demanding and detail-oriented immigration litigation process as a member of legal team.
  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Analytical ability, logical reasoning and sound judgement when professionally handling clients’ cases.
  • Identify legal issues and develop new approaches to resolve complex issues.
  • Comprehensive understanding in immigrant visa petitions and consular processing.
  • Thorough understanding of family based petitions, waivers, adjustment of status complex issues, asylum based petitions & consular processing.
  • Ability to litigate in immigration court issues such as 42A, 42B, asylum & CAT.
  • Knowledge of H, L, E2, E-3, TN & O Visas, PERM preffered but not required.
  • Immigrant visa petitions and consular processing.
  • Will advise, research, and collect evidence or information, draft legal documents such as petitions & motions to defend in court.
  • Draft motions, waivers, applications, requests for evidence, and submit to appropriate federal offices such as USCIS.
  • Advocate for clients establishing legal residency or facing deportation. Preparing family-based petitions, employment-based cases, waivers, removal defense matters and consular processing issues.
  • Type a variety of documents in draft and final form, such as correspondence, forms, and evidence; proofreads materials for correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Assist in preparations by providing relevant research data.
  • Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court and USCIS appointments.
  • Maintain the strictest level of confidentiality with organizational information.
  • Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and MacOS systems.
  • Friendly and strong commitment to customer service.
  • English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to type 45 WPM or more.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.


Education and Experience:

  • Must be an active member in good standing of the Bar.
  • 3+ years of law firm experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years of court experience .


Compensation:

Meneses Law believes in Work Life Balance. Operation hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. plus 2 Saturdays a month for certain positions.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education/ Experience:

  • Must be an active member in good standing of the Bar; knowledge of MS Office and MacOS
  • Must have at least 2 years of court experience .

Communication Skills:

  • Ability of reading comprehension, writing, speaking to others to convey information effectively, active listening and interpreting instructional documents. English/ Spanish bilingual oral communication is a must.

Reasoning Skills:

  • Must be able to analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures to define the problem or objective. Identify relevant concerns or factors, patterns, tendencies, and relationships. Formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize alternative and their implications.

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. May involve moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.

Other skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management.

Work Hours:

  • Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with 10% travel. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs .
