Job Description

NBC7 / T20, the NBCUniversal television stations in San Diego, are looking for a dynamic Account Executive to join the multi-market sales team. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining and growing sales revenue, as well as cultivating and developing new advertisers for the station group’s multi-platform properties including NBC, Telemundo, Peacock & SpotOn. The ability to work with multi-cultural clients of all levels of business is paramount, from large cap to medium and small businesses, in addition to exploring unique paths to procure business. The Account Executive will be expected to meet quarterly and annual targets by servicing existing clients as well as identifying and prospecting new business. This position requires an individual with a keen ability to develop concepts to create, incrementally grow, and maintain sales revenue by connecting a corporation’s marketing goals seamlessly with the entire portfolio of NBC Local Media content distribution platforms. This position also requires the understanding of non-linear sales and the ability to sell these platforms. The successful candidate will need a strong understanding of non-linear products, specifically, the OTT landscape will be critical to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and generate new business for multiple platforms, while increasing revenue from existing clients
  2. Seek out new clients by monitoring other media in the marketplace
  3. Acquire new business by making cold calls
  4. Prepare and present comprehensive customized sales presentations, including non-traditional advertising campaigns, to clients
  5. Responsible for selling cross-platform marketing products
  6. Establish and maintain positive business relationships with local clients and agencies
  7. Ability to entertain clients/prospects during non-business hours including weeknights and weekends
  8. Utilize current research programs and marketing materials to support sales proposals
  9. Regularly analyze and review sales development revenue progress with sales management
  10. Responsible for utilizing sales and research systems to include: Nielsen/Rentrak, Wide Orbit, CMR, Polk Automotive research
  11. Actively participate and attend community and civic events
  12. Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  2. Minimum of 2 years of previous advertising experience
  3. Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  4. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications

Desired Qualifications
  1. 3 years of previous broadcast/radio/print advertising experience, TV preferred
  2. Working knowledge of Nielsen audience data
  3. Experienced Business Development background
  4. Internet & Digital Media sales and advertising experience preferred
  5. Goal oriented, results driven professional
  6. Able to handle multiple accounts and responsibilities while developing new business
  7. Displays a positive work ethic
  8. Ability to generate new and creative ideas
  9. Solution oriented and a problem solver
  10. High degree of integrity and professionalism
  11. Professionally bilingual (English and Spanish)
