In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing earned media in a purposeful, disruptive, and relevant manner. This role will support the Sports & Entertainment team. To be successful in this role, you should be able to develop, manage, and execute progressive external communications strategies, as well as maintain a strong network of media contacts that can be leveraged to positively increase Ally’s share of voice.Ally work locations are Charlotte NC or Detroit MI - in office role with hybrid scheduleAt this time, Ally will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The Work ItselfDevelop and implement proactive external communications strategies that support the larger goals of Ally's existing sponsorship portfolioCreate strategic and tactical communications, including plans, press releases, media materials, media pitches, and messaging to support key business initiativesBuild and cultivate strong relationships with client groups and key subject matter experts to enhance the development of appropriate messages and communicationsBuild and sustain productive relationships with key sports business, consumer, and trade publications consistent with Ally's target demographics and respond to inquiries from the press regarding the businessManage external events and work with partners to ensure high standards and excellent quality is delivered in terms of content, environment and logisticsCollaborate with broader marketing team, business partners and agencies to enhance initiativesAnalyze results of key initiatives and propose recommendations to achieve goalsContribute to the effectiveness of the Marketing and PR function, including participating in general departmental deliverables and forums and implementing best practices from the teamThe Skills You BringBachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing, journalism, or related field preferred5+ years of experience in Public Relations requiredIn-depth knowledge of the sports, entertainment, and lifestyle media landscape requiredSound judgement and extensive media relations experience requiredCrisis communication experienceExperience using PR tools and services, such as Cision, MuckRack and MeltwaterOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsKeen attention to detailKnowledge of sports industry trendsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at a timeExcellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteSocial media knowledgeStrong work-ethic and desire for continual learningHow We'll Have Your Back*Ally's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
